This nationwide tournament\, designed for junior anglers\, runs from April 3rd to April 18th\, 2026\, coinciding with the April school holidays. \nThe tournament is a fantastic opportunity for kids under 18 to experience the thrill of fishing. With a structure similar to that of ‘The Nationals’\, the event includes an all-tackle\, measure-and-release format\, and a points-based scoring system that encourages anglers to fish lighter line classes. Thanks to Daiwa NZ and Just Another Fisherman\, there are some epic prizes up for grabs for the winning anglers! \nParticipation is easy—junior anglers can register at their nearest fishing club\, and they don’t need to be a member. The tournament offers a wide variety of fishing sections catering to kids with handlines all the way up to those with access to boats.
