Points will be allocated to the 10 heaviest fish in each species. Points range from 1-10\, 10 being the heaviest. \nSPECIES: Wreckfish (Bass\, Hapuku & Bluenose) – min weight 5kg. Kingfish – measured min length 800mm. Snapper – measured min length 450mm. Kahawai & John Dory -no minimum. Tarakihi\, Trevally & Gurnard (Red or Japanese) – min length 25cm. \nANGLER PRIZES: Prizes for 1st\, 2nd & 3rd heaviest of each species. Junior Prize and Lucky draws & Spot prizes at Briefing & Prize Giving. DESCRIPTION:     \nCOASTGUARD FISHING COMPETITION\nFriday 13th November – Sunday 15th November \n \nSPECIES:  Snapper\, Kingfish\, Kahawai\, Trevally \nLONGEST FISH: Maximum of 2 of each species per angler \nPRIZES: 1st\, 2nd & 3rd Longest Length each species Adult and Junior (first submitted if two entries are of equal length) and loads of Spot Prizes!  In the event of fish not being caught in one category\, all prizes will be drawn. \nLINE WEIGHT: Fish must be caught in accordance with Club tournament & IGFA rules \nENTRY FEE: Adult: $50 Junior: $25 (a junior is 16 years and under)\n(First 50 skippers receive free entry pack) \nAll entries via the TSFC with payment at the Club\, online at www.tsfc.co.nz or via internet banking to 12-3209-0153933-00 Ref: TVCGFC.\nFull refunds will be given for any reason provided a refund is requested before briefing. Entries not paid by 5.30pm on briefing night will not be eligible for lucky draws on briefing night.\nNo entries will be accepted between 6.00pm on briefing night and the end of briefing. \nFISHING AREA: Chart 54 modified + Land based\, including fishing from PWCs and kayaks as long as they have VHF communications with Tauranga Coastguard CH01 \nBRIEFING: 6.30pm Friday\, 13th November 2026 \nNOTE: Briefing is compulsory and team captains or a nominated team member who is fishing the tournament must register at the office on briefing night\, no later than 6.00pm and is to attend and remain until the conclusion of briefing unless prior approval to not attend has been given by the Tournament Convenor. All Anglers MUST collect “Angler Number Cards” from TSFC prior to fishing. \nSTART FISHING: After briefing on Friday the 13th November 2026 \nFinal fish length entry in time shall be the end of the contest. All fish must be photographed on an approved NZ Fishing Competition tape and must be submitted to fishing@taurangacoastguard.co.nz no later than 3:00pm 23rd November (no exceptions) \nMeasuring tapes will be provided. \nFAILURE TO ADHERE TO TOURNAMENT RULES MAY RESULT IN PENALTIES BEING IMPOSED. \nIn the event of Bad Weather the tournament maybe postponed to the following weekend.  \nPRIZE GIVING: 6.30pm Sunday the 15th November 2026 \nRADIO: Tauranga Coastguard – Log Trip reports on CH01 or CH62.
