DESCRIPTION:The Winter Slam 2026\n\nThe Winter Slam 2026 is proudly sponsored by: Stu Cundy – Bayleys Country\, Link Up Paints\, Highersafe NZ\, Glass Art NZ & Phil Buckland Motors \nNo entry fee\, you will be automatically entered once you enter the Dalton’s Snapper Classic\, the Garmin Swordfish Challenge and the YRW Bluefin Bust Up. \n1st May – 15th August 2026 \nENTER WINTER SLAM: ALL 3 TOURNAMENTS FOR $160! \nPrizes \n\n5 Major Angler prizes (anglers will get to choose from prizes 1st – 5th order)\nChampion Angler\nChampion Boat\nChampion Junior\n\nAngler Points Structure as follows: \n\nAll prize winners based on a points structure for Snapper/Swordfish/Bluefin Tuna\, Largest fish caught/T&R (Points) overall wins.\nSnapper – 3 longest fish combined length per angler counted x 2 points per CM of length. (i.e. 60cm / 70cm / 80cm x 2 is 420cm total)\nSwordfish – 1 fish only per angler counted (Heaviest)\, 1 point per KG of fish weighed or100 points T&R. (I.E. 150KG fish =150 points or 100 points if T&R)\nBluefin Tuna – 1 fish only per angler counted (Heaviest)\, 2 points per KG of fish weighed or 70 points T&R. DESCRIPTION:The YRW Bluefin Bust Up is here!\nRunning this year from the 1st May – 15th August 2026\nThe YRW Bluefin Bust Up is proudly sponsored by: YRW Chartered Accountants\, Decoro Fishing Supplies & McClymont Lures \nCONTEST FEES – ADULT $80.00 per angler.  JUNIOR $30.00 per angler \nREGISTRATION – Anglers may enter the tournament at any time but must have their entry fee paid prior to leaving port \nFISHING TIMES – Start Fishing: From 0600hrs (6.00am) Friday 1st May 2026 continuous until 1500hrs(3pm) Saturday 15th August\nFinal weigh in time is: 1500hrs (3pm).\nAll fish and catch cards must be at the weigh station by final weigh in time 1500hrs (3pm) No exceptions. \nWEIGH-IN – All fish must be weighed at the Tauranga Sport Fishing Club.\nPlease ensure Catch Cards are filled out before fish are presented to the weigh station.\nCatch cards are available in the Clubrooms.\nWeigh station hours are daily from 0700-0800hrs (7:00am-8:00am) and 1700-1800hrs (5:00pm-6:00pm) except for Saturday where final weigh in time is 1200hrs-1500hrs (12:00pm – 3:00pm) (No exceptions).\nYou must contact the club to organize a weigh master to be at the weigh station during one of the prescribed weigh in times. \nSPECIES (MINIMUM WEIGHTS) \nOther Tuna 10kg\nBluefin Tuna 25kgs\nOnly TWO Southern Bluefin Tuna may be weighed per angler for the duration\, no catch limits for other species.\nDue to MPI regulations there is a bag limit of 1 Southern Bluefin Tuna per person\, per day. \nWEEKLY LUCKY DRAW – A Weekly Angler will be drawn at 6.45PM on each Thursday during the tournament.  The winners will be notified via Facebook and TSFC website. \nMAJOR PRIZE GIVING – The major prize giving will be held on Saturday 15th August 2026 1800hrs (6:00pm) \nMajor Fish Prizes; \n\n1 – 5 Heaviest Bluefin Tuna (in the event of a tie the prize will go to the fish caught first)\nTag & Release Prizes\nChampion Angler (most points)\nChampion Boat (most points)Boat with Most Tag and Release\nHeaviest other Tuna\nHeaviest Junior Fish Caught\n\nTag and Release 70 Points (equivalent to 35kg fish)2 points per Kg of fish weighed \nIn the event of a tie Champion Angler/Boat/Junior\, first to catch or T&R all fish to count for points wins. Anglers can fish multiple boats at their discretion.
